This last semester in college, I took a black and white film photography class, and for my final project I photographed people I noticed on my commute to school on public transit. This project initially was extremely intimidating because it meant I would have to go up to people and ask to take their portrait. When I told my photography professor my project idea and the anxiety I felt around it, he gave me a personal assignment to ask at least 4 individuals to take their portrait. In hindsite the discomfort of this project made the end result all the more meaningful, and these are still some of my favorite photographs I have ever taken. All of these images were developed and printed by me in the dark room.
